This schematic gives you some idea of the scale of the show. Hall 3 is the 2 level building in the foreground. It's a lot of distance to cover even over 4 days.

This is where part of the show happens - the Yamaha Temple.

This is Hall 3 where all us non-Yamaha drum and percussion manufacturers do our thing.

No smoking signs as big as postage stamps made it clear that when these guys say something they really mean it.

So many captions, so little time.

HEY MAN! Stop flickin' your ashes in my cajon!

The Adams booth.

The Adams drum booth. OK, trivia question..which kit in this picture was at the same booth LAST year?
Was it

A) The Ayotte kit
B) The black kit in the center of the image
C) The set that has wood hoops on it.

Osebo would be jealous. (If you don't know who or what Osebo is Google it.)

Agner management. Great quality sticks.

AHY. Bless you.

Amedia cymbals. Crazy looking and different...I liked 'em. This set was very, very coppery.

Very interesting finish on these. Also sounded decent.

Anatoiian.

I swear...these guys never left the show last year! They just stayed in their booth. Roy and Ron of Aquarian, 2 of the best in the industry.  It ain't a show until you've heard one of Roy's jokes.

Arbiter flats. The Tympani is very cool.

Artbeat. Why am I telling you the name? Great sticks.

Collectors item. Just not many collectors.

Bosphorus. Doing great things with the thin stuff.

Trash, crash, smash and wobble.

Check out the profile on that top one.

Another unique profile.

I missed the name of the company, but they make some really nice wind chimes.

These cats are from China and they brought a really cool thing - mini timps!
I had to give this item a Smithiew even thoughthis company's reps were anything but friendly.
I also HAD to include a page from the company brochure...

That's right - the "voice" can be stopped. Inside each timp is a foot operated damper. The machincs - the hoops, lugs and damping mechanism are essentially disposable they are so poorly made, however with some upgraded parts and a bit of ingenuity, these could be a great compliment to a regular kit.

BEST NEW PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT

Snaron - a very cool product desinged by Job Verweijen. One of the more interesting inventions I saw at the show.

MOST INNOVATIVE HAND PERCUSSION ACCESSORY

Craviotto and Attack snare drums.
My dear friend Johnny Craviotto was at the show, but was not exibiting.

Italian manufacturer CVL.
